Reflections

Everyone has had their nice day with family meals and baskets and eggs and candy.

I’d like to reflect for a bit.

I know, I am preaching to the choir. The folks who read this are going to nod in agreement with most pieces. Those who actually need to see it, the Fox sect, never will. And even if they did, biases will make them deny it all. But it’s bothering me and I need to get it out.
Lots of folks today claim they’re celebrating the rising of Jesus from the dead. They say the celebrate him and all he’s done and they want to live like him and follow his teachings.

I live in the Bible belt. I see this on the daily. Bumper stickers: “Pro life. Pro God. Pro gun.” Ummm…One of these things is not like the other. Do you not know that guns are the stark opposite of life?

Of course you don’t. Because you pick what you want to hear from Fox news and believe what you choose to believe.

To clarify: I’m not anti-Jesus. I’m not anti-Christian. I’m anti-fundamentalist. I’m anti-asshole.

Why a hypocrite?

The portraits done go against the x commandment. Also, they were done by Italian Renaissance painters, who painted life as they knew it not as it was. J-man was not Italian.

Yup.

They woukd put him on the other side of their wall, as they would consider him the other and fear he would take away their now-automated factory job.

The close-minded us vs them nationalism has got to stop. The hiding behind a book has his to stop. The hate has got to stop.

If you’re pro-life, then you provide from birth to death. You put resources towards your people, all of your people. You fund the next generation. You look at the big picture and you follow love.

Rant over. Tomorrow we return to our regularly scheduled Witchy mama stuff.

Whenever life begins to get me down, I just look in the mirror and say, “Yabbut, you don’t live in the Bible Belt!”
    Then I feel better.

I’m lucky to be in a blue bubble within the Belt. I also grew up in a red bubble of a blue state in the North East, so it’s definitely not just the Belt :-/

Perhaps one day we’ll all be on the right side of history

I’ve been in a blue bubble of a blue state for so long, I forget how weird and crazy America can be. Whenever I travel anywhere, it totally freaks me out. Of course, we’re a bit weird here too but not scary weird, just funny weird.

Sigh. I’ll just stay in my yard with my chickens where it’s safe.
