A block

Published January 24, 2016 by Lunapo

Well, I thought getting that giant load off my chest would remove the writer’s block.

But it didn’t.

It’s not so much a block as it is a priority.

I don’t have much time at work to blog.

When I’m not at work, I want to spend all of my time and energy with my kids. I don’t want to blog when they’re around. I don’t want them to see Mama from around her phone.

When they’re in bed, I want to relax and unwind.

I’m thoroughly enjoying my Marvel Unlimited subscription.

So I’m reading more and writing less. Because I don’t want to write for the sake of writing. I want to write because I have something to say.

And right now, in this season of toddler and infant, I don’t have much to share outside of poop and breastmilk.

  • A friend of mine once told me to get out a piece of paper and just doodle and write whatever words came to mind. Then ask what feelings it provokes, an to put it into writing.
I can’t say much else has helped me but that advice

  • I get it. I’ve been reading a lot lately. It’s been awesome. Just write when you feel good about what you’re writing. Don’t write just because you feel you need to. No pressure! We will wait!
