A block

Well, I thought getting that giant load off my chest would remove the writer’s block.

But it didn’t.

It’s not so much a block as it is a priority.

I don’t have much time at work to blog.

When I’m not at work, I want to spend all of my time and energy with my kids. I don’t want to blog when they’re around. I don’t want them to see Mama from around her phone.

When they’re in bed, I want to relax and unwind.

I’m thoroughly enjoying my Marvel Unlimited subscription.

So I’m reading more and writing less. Because I don’t want to write for the sake of writing. I want to write because I have something to say.

And right now, in this season of toddler and infant, I don’t have much to share outside of poop and breastmilk.

A friend of mine once told me to get out a piece of paper and just doodle and write whatever words came to mind. Then ask what feelings it provokes, an to put it into writing.
I can’t say much else has helped me but that advice

Sometimes you just have nothing to say and you don’t feel like blogging. Don’t beat yourself up. Come back to it if and when you are ready.

I get it. I’ve been reading a lot lately. It’s been awesome. Just write when you feel good about what you’re writing. Don’t write just because you feel you need to. No pressure! We will wait!
