One more day

Published September 17, 2015 by Lunapo

For so long it seemed this day would never come.

The day before the day.

The eve.

Yesterday I went for pre-op consultation and blood work. I signed off on my consent for surgery, for sending the placenta and cord blood to the NC blood bank.

Today is Witchlette’s last day of being an only child and my last day of being a mother of one. Today is our last day of being a Mommy-child two-some. Today is our last day of being a family of three.

And while there are a lot of lasts, there are also a lot of firsts to come.

The first time we see him. The first time we hold him. The first time his sister sees him. The first time we see our baby girl evolve into her new role of big sister.

The future looks bright and beautiful.

But we have to wait one more day.
